Have any systems every used an active matrix display as the actual framebuffer memory, versus scanning conventional memory over to it?
@ID_AA_Carmack Sharp's new memory LCDs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAoC818Mxy4 … might qualify. But most LCDs store analog values, not digital. They decay.

@NYarvin yeah, I would only expect it for mono displays, and they would still need refresh. No variable scan delay would be interesting. -

@ID_AA_Carmack DRAM decays too, but since it only stores one bit per cell, not 8, it can be refreshed. Still, a very similar circuit.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
