“Patients still are fearful about going to hospitals for heart attacks. Millions...are missing infusion therapies and chemotherapy. This deferred care is expected to lead to patients who are sicker...and more deaths from patients not receiving care.”https://www.forbes.com/sites/gracemarieturner/2020/05/22/600-physicians-say-lockdowns-are-a-mass-casualty-incident/ …

a doctor with experience in epidemics in Africa said that first step in dealing with epidemic is to set up field hospital for epidemic patients SEPARATE from ordinary hospitals so that they weren't contaminated. Every western jurisdiction appears to have done opposite.

instead of sending sick COVIDs in New York to waiting ship as field hospital, Cuomo sent them back to nursing homes to infect and kill other residents

That ship was initially designated as a hospital for non-Covid patients, exactly the sort of separation you're touting. That's why it was empty: ordinary patients just weren't showing up, out of fear plus quarantine rules.

It didn’t take weeks to figure that out. It could have quickly been redesignated to take recovering patients. The Central Park field hospital or the Javits center or Bronx died hospital could have been used. They all went empty. After milllions to set them up.
