Show of hands: how interested would people be in an essay about software private equity?
You're the one who knows whether he has something interesting to write. (And whether that something is still sort of exploratory, or a fully formed idea, or even fully formed a while ago and then double- and triple-checked.)

Consider it cheap market testing; I’ve got a lot of potential uses for +/- a day and often used to write speculatively and see which landed, prior to realizing “Oh I could just ask people.” (This seems extremely likely to happen based on this tweet’s responses relative to usual)

It's better than no market testing, but of all the forms of market testing I find twitter "would you be interested in X" to be among the lowest value. You could ask "Who would read an essay on the giant foam fingers they give out at NBA games" and I'd probably idly tap like.
