To be clear, if that man pointed a gun like object at a
, that’s assault and a lethal response justified. If #NYPD was responding, NYPD could have kept distance, given commands, and contained situation. Details. If he shoots, respond. What happened?#Bluelivesmatter - 1 more reply

I was wondering about the context of the shooting. Still, can't we disable someone, even with a shot to the leg before we just go for the kill? That seems entirely reasonable to expect.

There's no realistic way. I recommend you do some firearms training to see what officers have to go through; it's remarkable hard to hit anything consistently in the heat of the moment, especially with a handgun.

The gun was not real so why kill him

They didn’t know it wasn’t real...they believed it was real based upon actions and call information. You do see all of the video right?

I’m still not understanding why people are shot to subdue instead of being killed.. if it takes “sniper training” who cares? As long as more lives are being saved. Mental illness is a real live thing that doesn’t have a color or warning.

The purpose for sniper training is to kill, one shot one kill and snipers use rifles not handguns
