He doesn't owe you ID. US citizens are not required to carry ID. And selling candy is not an arrestable offense.

Obstructing is, though.

Seems like a perfectly reasonable response to somebody selling candy & not producing identification, thank goodness u saved the citizens of NY from this dangerous candy-selling non-ID-producing monster

Perfect response! Love it

The 116th 6 Station and 116th and Lex have so many more problems than someone selling candy. Why doesn’t the
@NYPD25Pct focus on that. There is never a cop in sight.@nyc311#eastharlem#harlem -
It’s much easier to target children selling candy for the NYPD. Or $2.75 fare beaters. They work for the MTA, not the citizens of the city.

Its almost like if a real crime is being committed you should call the cops and say theres a minority selling something just to have them rush over

We should be grateful we are being asked for identification. Thank you
#nypd for your endless efforts.#stopobstruction -
We are supposed to be grateful to be asked for identification? This is America. We aren't supposed to live under a police state. And their reaction wasn't warranted.

What heroes. How did four grown men find the bravery to arrest/beat the shit out of a kid for selling candy? Get these gentlemen some medals!
