@NYPDnews I was just watching GoodFellas and noticed the NYPD’s Film Unit was credited for their assistance with production. You’ve got a Film Unit? Not just assigned patrol units? Is this common in larger cities with a lot of TV and film work taking place?
Hey James! Yes, we have a Movie/ TV Unit that is assigned to locations throughout the city at all times of the day, keeping the public and filming staff safe especially during explosion scenes and when using fake police cars. We got a lot of cool units!
