I feel for all going to possibly on a once in a lifetime trip to the statue, and who, because of this bonehead, were denied entry. She should have to reimburse them all plus jail time. Love my

For more than 3 hours @NYPDSpecialops ESU officers talked with the woman who climbed the Statue of Liberty. The officers relied on their crisis communication training to slow the situation down, build rapport and eventually gain her compliance.

Well she wasn't suicidal, had no weapons. She climbed as a protest to the separation of families. So she was starting from a pretty reasonable place under the circumstances. But well done, no injuries.

I have tried to get the statue ticket many times it is always sold out. Some people just have no respect for law and rules. She probably ruined plans of all the tourists that day. Very irresponsible and what a waste of NYPDs precious time.
