Are you saying all this despite the fact that the statistics show the jail/prison do not prevent crimes? There is no swift action within the criminal justice system. You arrested him, but, how long is it going to take to charge him?
standard for arrest to arraignment in NYC is 24 hours. Relatively quick. However I believe there are extenuating circumstances they may allow for more than 24hours. Where do you suggest people like the accused go during trial/post trial?
