  1. In another example of a seemingly minor infraction leading to more serious crimes: TD-1 team stopped a man for fare evasion & learned he had multiple felony warrants. Finding questionable items in his possession-the repeat offender was further charged for 3 acts of Grand Larceny.

  2. Several hours after a man was robbed of his iPhone, District 12 cops kept up the search for the suspect. One last drive past the scene of the crime paid off as the victim pointed out the perpetrator, whose attempts to then flee on bicycle was met by our plainclothes team.

    During routine patrol, our Manhattan Transit team came upon a 23-year-old man breakdancing inside a train car & immediately recognized him as a subject wanted for a robbery & felony assault of subway riders. The suspect was arrested & charged in both cases & remains in custody.

    Post-phone snatch celebratory slurpee? We’ll see about that... When our District 2 team was alerted to the theft of an iPhone from a midtown straphanger, they set off in search of the suspect, eventually locating the culprit (+ the stolen property) in a neighborhood 7-Eleven.

    Charges are forthcoming and this case will be prosecuted to the fullest extent- A hero in the form of a NYCT Platform Controller emerged in a split second, taking control without hesitation and held the suspect while at the same time getting aid to the victim 👏

    Thanks to the response of Officer Rahman & his District 3 colleagues, a mugger who victimized a sleeping passenger was arrested early this morning, marking his 3rd robbery arrest with a bladed weapon since July.

    Our teams have a watchful eye on passenger safety, and thanks to Dist 4 Officers Close and Lamcaj, an innocent subway rider got his stolen property back after an offender with multiple prior arrests tried to take off with his bag- He was arrested and charged with grand larceny.

    Transit officers arrested 43-year-old parolee Shariff Brown yesterday in regards to this case. Investigators have also charged Mr. Brown in connection to earlier acts of grand larceny & most notably, several sexual offenses against passengers in the mass-transit system.

    The high-profile nature of this incident had little bearing on Sergeant Dennis & PO Merlino’s determination to catch the assailant, it was simply another case of NYC cops looking out for their fellow New Yorkers. The 35-year-old suspect now faces his 7th assault charge this year.

    Stellar work from our Transit Manhattan team recently - this time when they responded to assist street-level counterparts in the search for a bank robber who moments earlier targeted a TD Bank - eventually locating & arresting the man near one of our major transit hubs.
