Meet Jose (middle). Last year he stopped me and asked “How do I become a cop?” We exchanged numbers and now he’s in our academy, so he can see what our profession is all about! Congrats Jose on taking the first step!

This is what we do. We pray that God keep our cops, civilians and communities safe. We do God’s work regardless of the challenges. John 15:13 “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.”

  3. Join us as we celebrate by honoring Police Officer Samuel Battle. Born in North Carolina in 1883, “Big Sam” was a trailblazer: our first black police officer in 1911, sergeant in 1926, lieutenant in 1935 &, ultimately, New York City Parole Commissioner in 1941.

  5. NYPD cops perform amazing feats every day, simply because it’s “what they do.” It’s my privilege to join Deputy Inspector O’Malley today as we recognize the too-often unheralded work of ’s Finest. I thank each and every one of them for their service and dedication.

This morning Emergency Service Unit officers were called to rescue a distraught man from the 55th floor of a building in Manhattan. He was swinging a pipe at the cops stating he wanted to jump, but they persisted, putting themselves in harm's way, & saved his life

  16. NYPD cops show up each day, put on their uniforms, & go about the critical & very dangerous business of keeping people safe. Every day & night around the 5 boroughs, guns are taken off the street — never to be used to threaten or harm another person. For that, I thank them.

  20. We’ll be engaging with ALL young people, the large majority of whom aren’t committing any crimes at all. But some might end up as victims. We should engage with them — not only because it’s the right thing to do ... but because we know today’s victims can be tomorrow’s offenders.
