It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our own Sergeant Latisha Keirsey. She was a beloved friend, colleague and a talented supervisor. Sergeant Keirsey truly was an inspiration in the lives of so many! May God grant her eternal peace.

I had the privilege of meeting Andre Braugher while he was filming a Law & Order episode here in the city a few years back... as my awkward fan girl mumbling was coming to a conclusion, he suddenly yelled “NINE-NINE!”... it remains my fondest memory of working in that bldg 😂

Today we mourn the loss of one of our own. Police Officer Jason Rivera was murdered in the line of duty while responding to a domestic violence call. He was just 22 years old. We vow today, and always, to #NeverForget him and the ultimate sacrifice he made.

Less than 3 days after his release from this last arrest, he once again robbed a woman on Smith St. Our Warrant Squad apprehended him this week when he returned from an international trip. He is finally being held on $3,000 bail. @NYPDShea

Today your Domestic Violence Officers apprehended an individual wanted for a past crime. During the apprehension they recovered this illegal loaded firearm. Yet again, your officers went into harms way to ensure the safety of everyone in our neighborhood.

Our deepest condolences go out to the colleagues, family and friends of one of our own. Police Officer Leonardo Chavez passed away yesterday due to COVID-19. Officer Chavez served this city for the last 21 years, all within the transit system. May he rest in peace.

Deputy Constable Kareem Atkins from was shot and killed yesterday while making a robbery arrest. Two other officers were shot by the suspect but survived the incident. Constable Atkins is survived by his wife & 6-month-old child. May he rest in eternal peace.

Yesterday our Day Tour Sector “Adam” received a 911 call about a man displaying a firearm in broad daylight. They quickly responded to the scene and after a thorough investigation were able to safely removed this firearm from our streets.🚨

This evening we honored PO Green & PO Morganbrown with the January Cop Of The Month Award. While assigned to a transit post, they were alerted that a man had fallen onto the subway tracks. With the help of a Good Samaritan, they pulled the man off the tracks and into safety!
