The Ford-Kavanaugh hearing was a grotesque political drama in which everyone lost, writes @sullydishhttps://nym.ag/2Om25Y8

I didn;t know this was a contest and someone won. Ford was VERY credible. But two people told two different stories about a 36-year old incident & unless Mark Judge has info, there is nothing else to go on. His class and race aren't evidence.

The man was accused of attempted rape. How can you not question him about the time that it was alleged to have happened? He had indicated previously that he did not drink to excess. Meanwhile, Dr. Ford knew his friends, that he partied in small groups, knew where his BF worked,

And not a single one of those friends, including her life-long friend substantiate her story. Or the Yale story. Or the Gang Rape story.

Andrew, don't know how you can say there should be an investigation and in the same piece come down on the side of those refusing to have one. That may change, but there are ways to get better info. And only Rs are opposed to that.

Disagree that Kavaugh acted like an innocent man. After criticism that his Fox appearance lacked passion, Kavanaugh's opening rage was histrionic. An innocent person doesn't need to resort to partisan conspiracy theories and would explicitly welcome an FBI investigation.

Man. As an openly gay journalist and fiction writer who came out in the early 80s during the AIDS epidemic, I used to look up to you, @sullydish. But this article is absolute GARBAGE. And you know it. What the hell is going on with you? I'm worried, actually.

You're right about loss of privacy but it's a bit rich to hear kavanaugh complain about this when he did so much to tear it down through his work on the starr investigation. He help create this atmosphere.

Andrew, you need to do a reality check here. She has named another person who was in the room, who has been kept out of sight by the Republicans. He told lie after lie after lie. There's no question about what happened.

The part where Kavanagh framed his accuser, not as a human with a specific allegation, but as a probable paid stooge, an avenger for the Clintons, and a mere manifestation of an irrational bitterness towards Trump. Maybe Sully missed the conspiracy b.s.? This column was rushed.
