Too many controlled intersections. Pedestrians overly confident.

So far, every attempt has been to put the responsibility solely on the driver, however pedestrians and cyclists need to also act defensively.

Because 1.Drivers are not properly trained for Urban Driving 2.Drivers hold phones & look at other devices instead of the road & their mirrors. 3. Drivers are human-highly emotional & super charged angry because films, commercials & the entire industry tells them it’s ok & cool.

Does the data show number of deaths and injuries from cyclists hitting pedestrians? This most often is my biggest risk as a pedestrian. Yes, motorists are bad, but the risk of death or serious injury from a bike can be as bad or worse (just less obvious somehow).

Michelle, a pedestrian has not been killed by a cyclist in NYC since 2014. Such incidents are rare and average 0.4 such incidents per year over the long term. All of the 196 deaths recorded here in ‘18 (pedestrian, cyclist, motorist) were a result of cars.

Prioritize pedestrians in NYC, not cars.

Wondering how many of these deaths were caused by the pedestrian walking nonchalantly thru the intersection while staring at their phone. Is it as reckless as their behavior on the sidewalk?

NYPD begs drivers to be careful on left turns
1/3 of pedestrians injured by cars in 2018 were struck by vehicles making left turns, 21 were killed.
Two videos will also be pushed: one to teach, another of families whose kids were killed. @ClaytonGusehttps://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/ny-nypd-left-turns-campaign-20190411-pooiqfhpavhdppzwisavmmitx4-story.html …Show this threadThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
