All very true, especially with Blockbuster. They could’ve easily adapted to an online streaming service and been on top, but they didn’t. They killed themselves
-
Don't forget Blockbuster's CEO also passed up a chance to buy Netflix for $50 million back in 2000

It’s true, Kodak died because of their unwillingness to really dive into digital cameras the right way.
-
Kodak originally was a chemical company. They weren't doing optics like canon and Nikon and didn't have the resources and motivation to become a camera giant
-
Yeah I'm from Rochester so I understand but when they finally had the chance they didn't put the money behind it. They only did like super simple shit and it led to their demise

Nah amazon kills retailers 100% lol
-
I can agree to a certain extent with that lol
-
The rest I agree with but the internet as a whole makes it extremely hard for brick and mortar stores to compete.
-
I just don’t get how the internet is able to beat prices compared to Brick & mortar stores in almost every category. Somehow just gotta stay ahead of the curve
-
Yeah it's complicated but not having an actual store front plays a lot into it, way less labor hours, overhead, etc. Also if they have a warehouse they can stock more usually meaning they get the bottom dollar price depending the brand they're working with.

Every single one of those is a very limited answer to very complex situations. Far more to it than that. For example, the cost of operating a taxi and the difficulty in being an owner of it has just as much to do with the growth of uber as anything.

I feel like they reaching for excuses when really all these companies have done well off the sole connivence of being easier than the other.

Have to disagree. Imo customer convenience is most important not minor fees. Why would I make another stop when I could stream a movie from home? Why buy 2 albums when I can put them all on 1 device?
-
Uber and AirBNB thrive on the fact that something personal is going to be better taken care of than a 1 size fits all. Yellow Cabs are dirty and so are hotels not to mention the other guests. Amazon has opened selection of products to a global scale rather than local options.
