  2. We don’t make guns in New York City. It’s illegal to carry them. But the iron pipeline is allowing irresponsible laws in other states to bring weapons of war to our streets. It’s time to close that pipeline for good. Proud to partner with in this critical work.

A bald eagle landed in yesterday! 🦅 Though bald eagles spend their winters in forested areas near our waterways, spotting one spending time on the ice in Central Park is pretty rare.

  9. Wilbert Mora truly was New York’s Finest. And his death will not be in vain. To the men and women of the NYPD: I know the pain you and your families are feeling today. But I also know that your city is standing with you. And we always will.

Gun violence is taking lives and hurting our city. I stand with Adams as he fights back and protects officers + residents from those who endanger our streets and communities. We must find common ground and common sense solutions.

I've been briefed on this and will be visiting with the victim shortly. This was a reprehensible act, one made even worse by the fact that it happened in a place where New Yorkers go for safety and to heal. If you have any information, please contact immediately.

Wilbert Mora was a hero. He served his city, protected his community and gave his life for our safety. Our hearts are heavy. Our city is in mourning. To his family, loved ones, and brothers and sisters in the NYPD: Your city is standing with you today and always.

It’s with great sadness I announce the passing of Police Officer Wilbert Mora. Wilbert is 3 times a hero. For choosing a life of service. For sacrificing his life to protect others. For giving life even in death through organ donation. Our heads are bowed & our hearts are heavy.
