    We don’t make guns in New York City. It’s illegal to carry them. But the iron pipeline is allowing irresponsible laws in other states to bring weapons of war to our streets. It’s time to close that pipeline for good. Proud to partner with in this critical work.

    We are coming at the gun violence epidemic with all the resources we can deploy. Our Interstate Task Force on Illegal Guns brings together leaders in the common pursuit of stopping the flow of illegal guns and saving lives. Too many have been lost. New Yorkers deserve action.

    Thank you, Cardinal. I meant what I said on Friday night — it will take ALL of us to end the plague of gun violence and I will be calling on your wise counsel in the weeks and months ahead.

    Pleased to read of Adams' efforts to remove illegal guns from our streets and offer more protection to the heroic men and women of the NYPD. Our political leaders have our prayerful support as they work to protect the safety and dignity of every person’s life.

    I've been briefed on this and will be visiting with the victim shortly. This was a reprehensible act, one made even worse by the fact that it happened in a place where New Yorkers go for safety and to heal. If you have any information, please contact immediately.

    Earlier today, an individual in 's emergency department shot another individual who was in the waiting room. This was a cowardly act in a space where New Yorkers come for healing and care.
