Firefighter William P. Moon II was a dedicated public servant, who spent more than two decades saving the lives of New Yorkers and will continue to do so in his passing.
This is a heartbreaking loss for New York’s Bravest, and for our entire city.

Navigating obstacles in a new city and country are tough. Coupling that with a lack of child care can prevent families from achieving the dream they so desperately set out to achieve. Our Promise NYC program alleviates stress from those concerns.

Our cultural spaces are part of what make our city the greatest in the world. Through our Cultural Development Fund, we're investing $58 million into 1,000 non-profits across our city that bring art and creativity to every neighborhood.

I applaud our lawmakers in the House for passing the Puerto Rico Status Act.
For decades, the people of Puerto Rico have been in limbo over their political future. This bill is a good first step in determining the future of the island by letting Puerto Ricans decide themselves.
Quote Tweet
A proposal passed Thursday would commit Congress to accept Puerto Rico as the 51st state if voters on the island approved it. But the effort now goes to the Senate where it stands little chance of passing as Republicans have long opposed statehood. apnews.com/article/refere

We will not allow unlicensed stores to threaten the work we are doing to create an equitable cannabis industry in NYC.
More than $4 million worth of illegal products, many targeting kids, were recently seized by our interagency task force, sending a clear warning to bad actors.

Public safety is the key to prosperity. It's the only way we can achieve a just and equitable New York City.
I promised I would make a difference on public safety during my campaign, and I'm proud to say that we are well on our way to a safer New York.

Ten years since #SandyHook.
And since that tragic day, we’ve lost too many lives to gun violence.
No more.
Let us be the leaders who honor those young lives we lost at Sandy Hook and dam the rivers feeding the sea of gun violence.
For good.

Antisemitism is not a Jewish issue — it’s a human issue. If we don't meet that threat head on, we'll fail not just our Jewish brothers and sisters, but our entire society. Today, I stood with the @OrthodoxUnion to say to the forces of hate and division: Not here. Not in our city.
