    Anyway, maybe we can stop saying "I'm only voting for my Democratic candidate" at this point, because it makes you look like a lunatic to think voting for Trump is better than someone that isn't actively trying to install a dictatorship.

    And don't get me wrong, I think it's important to highlight, "oh no, my Global Entry" is nowhere near the same as, say, 70,000 kids in cages at the border. But this is tied to that -- stand up for immigrants, get punished.

    The Republican Party disenfranchises tens of thousands (at least) of voters of color every single year. Their votes never get to count. In 2016 alone, courts found deliberate efforts in NC, TX, and WI. But Glenn waiting 3 days for a caucus result is the worst outrage ever.

    Nothing that I can remember has damaged faith and credibility in US democracy like what happened in the Iowa Democratic Party caucus.

    Romney received many criticisms that he deserved in 2012 - the 47% comment and “apology tour” lies comes to mind. His acceptance of Trump’s endorsement is another. Because he did something praiseworthy today doesn’t make those criticisms invalid now. People contain multitudes.

    Best part of these tributes to Romney — exemplar of virtue! paragon of decency! — is that they’re coming from the same people who SAVAGED him for an awkward turn of phrase that was meant to illustrate his commitment to hiring women for top-level positions. Heckuva job, everyone.

    I think people are weary because of what he did with Spider-man 3. He completely ruined the franchise and caused Sony to have to go in a totally different direction.

    This take requires you to forget about Sarah Palin, the rise of the Tea Party, and the 2012 Republican primary.

    I wonder if any of the same journalists praising Romney to the heavens right now realize that the way they smeared him in 2012 is partly what enabled the rise of Trump. A swath of the GOP watched a guy run, get smeared, and lose. And they concluded “punching back” was necessary.

    Mitt Romney, is an elected official in the United States Senate. My life and millions of Americans lives are endangered because he did not do everything in his power to sound the alarm about Trumps actions. I don’t have on tribal garb. I didn’t see any courage.

    Yes. Given the cult of MAGA faithful, Romney literally endangered his life w that vote. He also set an historic example of morality. No doubt, he made it easier for Jones & Manchin. So, let’s put down our tribal garb for ONE MINUTE to celebrate actual courage when we see it.
