BREAKING: The Council just voted to extend commercial tenant protections. The bill temporarily suspends personal liability provisions in the leases of certain COVID-impacted businesses and will now apply through March 31, 2021.

Last month, we overwhelmingly passed housing voucher bills to help people avoid eviction or move from shelters to permanent housing. Now, after more than a year of inaction by ’s Administration, he vetoes help for New Yorkers. We are prepared to override this veto.

Non-profit contracted workers provide so much for New Yorkers in need, but their wages are woefully out of step with the salaries of other workers in similar jobs. That’s why we are calling on the City to commit to a multi-year pay increase for these essential workers! #JustPay
