@NYCComptroller Electric relies on fossil fuel just as much as natural gas. Please do not tout electric as an alternative!

The switch to natural gas over other fossil fuels has been incredibly beneficial. No need to sacrifice the good for the perfect.

So, our building will continue to use dirty oil delivered by trucks? Oh, and in 2 years be fined because we are using oil? What are older buildings - sometimes the only affordable buildings in outer boroughs - supposed to do to meet the new standards set by NYC?
-
Upgrade the building to high energy efficiency standards. That is, stop wasting energy, which reduces pollution and saves you money. Here is info from the Urban Green Council on implementing Local Law 97, which covers large buildings:https://www.urbangreencouncil.org/content/projects/all-about-nycs-historic-building-emissions-law …
