    OTD (Jan 11-13) in 1985, a snowstorm impacted south-central TX. As you can see on the map, it was rather cold, near 20F, under the base of a strong arctic high. Up to 14" was measured. More from here:

    A winter storm will affect the region on Friday and Friday night. The heaviest snow is currently expected to occur across central IA. However, a slight westward shift in the storm track would result in a more impactful snow event for western IA and eastern NE.
