    Breezy/windy conditions have developed in coastal/lakeshore areas & especially offshore. Here's 7 AM plot of wind gusts that show 15 to 30 mph common in coastal areas & the south shore of Lake Pontchartrain with 30-35 mph offshore. A Small Craft Advisory is in effect.

    It's a colder morning in the wake of the reinforcing cold front. It will remain chilly but sunny today w/ breezy conditions at times too, especially near tidal lakes & coast. Tonight will be cold with possible frost late in northern areas. Sunday will be sunny/warmer.

    A reinforcing cold front will move through the region tonight, leading to cooler than normal temperatures this weekend. The coldest temperatures are expected Saturday night into Sunday morning, with some frost possible across northern areas.

    Good Friday morning. It will be a pleasant day today but we did have some 🌫️ fog early this morning, mainly in the river valleys. But this fog quickly mixed out (burned off 😏) after sunrise.

    The coldest air of the season arrives behind a front late tonight. Some areas may dip into the mid 30s, resulting in frost Saturday night. The river valley and basin areas north of I-12/I-10 in SE LA and S MS have the greatest potential for frost.

    6 AM observations, satellite imagery and cameras indicated areas of patchy dense fog across portions of southeast LA and south MS. A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for the grey shaded areas until 9 AM.

    Clearing skies will allow for a cool night tonight with lows generally in the 50s. A beautiful & mild day with highs in the low to mid 70s is on tap for tomorrow and a slightly cooler night for Friday night with lows in the mid to upper 40s north and upper 40s to lower 50s south.

    Tonight will be cool with decreasing clouds. Expect lows generally in the low to mid 50s across northern areas and in the upper 50s across southern areas.
    Tomorrow (Friday) will be mostly sunny and mild. Highs will range from the low to mid 70s.
    Friday night will be cool and clear with lows generally in the mid to upper 40s north and upper 40s to lower 50s south.

    The Crew Dragon Endeavour capsule is planning to re-enter the atmosphere and splashdown offshore Pensacola, FL tonight. If you live along coastal Mississippi or parts of southeastern LA, you MIGHT hear or see the re-entry sometime around 9:30PM CT. Look southeast!

    Quite the comfortable day across the region today with most of the region in the lower to mid 70s under sunny skies. Only locations that struggled to get into 70s were right along the coast like coastal MS & extreme SELA.
