Here is a video of a fire whirl from the #TennantFire on June 29th. After a survey from the IMET, this was likely the rotation our radar was picking up on the 29th. Credit to the US Forest Service for taking this video. #CAwx #fire #fireseason

I know fire whirls don’t get rated, but if it were rated, what damage did it do and what rating would it have gotten?

There was tree damage observed by the survey team. However, due to safety concerns the area directly below the radar signature could not be surveyed and efforts to differentiate the damage from the fire and the fire whirl are ongoing. Until then, no rating can be given
