    Warm and humid w/ isolated to scattered (15%-45%) showers and a few storms Mon. & Tue. Hotter for mid to late in the week w/ more isolated (15%-25%) shower and thunderstorm chances. Heat indices will begin to climb into the mid to upper 90s later this week.

    More clouds are expected today, along with widely scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Doesn't look like a deal breaker for most outdoor plans, so enjoy the latter part of the weekend!

    If you were thinking this year has been very quiet severe weather-wise, you would be correct. So far this year, NWS Kansas City has only issued 26 total severe t-storm and tornado warnings (18 severe t-storm & 8 tornado) compared to 125 in 2020, 159 in 2019, & 96 in 2018.

    Isolated to scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms will be possible Sunday through the middle of the week. Mid 80 degree temperatures will also be the theme, along with increased humidity.

    PRESS START for the weekend! We are pretty psyched for highs in the mid to upper 80's. Some isolated showers and t-storms are anticipated Sunday afternoon. The trend of afternoon showers and t-storms continues into next week.

    Level up your weekend with awesome weather. Another totally 80s background detailing tonight and the next 4 days. Thunderstorms return Sunday afternoon and evening. Temperatures are in the mid to upper 80s.

    The 80's keep rocking through the weekend. Areas to our north may approach the 90's.

    80s synthgrid with KC outlined in the background. Tonight + 3 day forecasts with totally radical depictions of the moon and sun. Sunny with a few clouds highs in the mid to upper 80s for the next few days.

    Keeping with the theme from this morning... The 80's return to close out the week sticking around through the weekend. Some isolated showers and t-storms this evening lead to a sunny and dry next few days.

    Totally rad forecast in the colors of an 80s TV show. 5-day forecast starting with isolated showers and storms tonight before a nice dry end of week with temperatures in the 80s.

    It is shaping up to be a beautiful day with highs in the mid 70s . That said, every day is a good day to ensure you're prepared for severe weather. We will be testing the NOAA Weather Radio and many municipalities will test their outdoor warning sirens at the top of the hour.

    Guess what?! We are bringing back the 80s this week! Outside of a small chance for some isolated showers or thunderstorms this afternoon, the forecast will be dry the rest of the week.

    Given the cool weekend, it has been a few days since the temperature was in the 70s. Normal highs this time of year are in the lower 80s. Temperatures will return to normal levels on Thursday, with slightly above normal temperatures late this week.

    Spotty showers have begun to develop on the south side of the metro. Brief rainfall and perhaps a lightning strike or two can be expected through the afternoon into the evening. Showers are expected to be most numerous south of I-70.
