Well, we made it through what is the climatological coldest period in KC (Jan 10-26) and we were above normal! The normal high is 38 during that stretch and we averaged 44.3 degrees. The average low is 19 and we averaged 28.2 degrees. In total we were 7.6 degrees above normal!

Climatologically, the coldest period for KC is Jan 10th-26th with a average high of 38 and low of 19. If it is ok, we have decided not to do that this year and go with above normal temps through this period. Does that work for everyone?? #KCAboveTheNorm #ExtendedJanuaryThaw

More winter weather is on the way! Incoming weather may impact your Wednesday morning commute to work, so make sure to keep an eye on the forecast. #mowx #kswx
Calm and seasonally cold Monday and the first half of Tuesday ahead of out next weather winter event. Tuesday evening a rain/snow mix will move into the region from west to east, quickly transitioning to all snow. The bulk of accumulating snowfall will occur overnight, gradually tapering off through Wednesday morning. This may cause potential impacts to the Wednesday morning commute, as snowfall may not end until closer to the noon hour. There is still some forecast uncertainty with snow totals and timing; however, we are anticipating the greatest amount of snow accumulation to be east of I-35.
