As people on the ground in what has become the epicenter for coronavirus in the U.S., we have seen firsthand the impact this has on our most vulnerable communities. ICE has the responsibility to protect the safety of all who are in immigration detention.

As a first step, it should immediately release our clients who have already been identified by the federal government as being most at risk because of this epidemic. If it waits to react to worst case scenarios once they take hold, it will already be too late

I think this is first time I’ve covid 19 mentioned with immigrants. This seems like it could be a VERY bad situation. Not just in ICE jails. There are refugee camps all over the world. Even at the Mexican border. I hope SOMEONE has a plan
