: Asian American lawmakers are raising the alarm about a new wave of anti-Asian violence resulting from language around economic competition with China.
Their concerns have grown in recent weeks as Congress focused on the COMPETES ACT.
THIS BILL NEEDS TO PASS!!!
Oregon’s ‘part-time’ pay for state legislators has long meant only the well-to-do can afford to run for office. A new bill wants to change that

I will always remember what it was like to be at the Capitol that day. And I will always remember that just hours after that attack, my colleagues and I returned to do our jobs and certify the free and fair election of our next President.
On January 6, 2021, when our Capitol – and members of Congress – were under attack by armed extremists attempting a coup, it was a visceral reminder that American democracy is not a given: we must protect it.

The past year has been difficult for many. It ended with noteworthy losses: transformative leader Desmond Tutu, cultural icon Betty White, and Colorado homes ravaged by wildfire -- in the dead of winter -- that reminded Oregonians of homes lost in our recent wildfires.
As we embark on a new year, I'm 100% committed to passing:
- Voting rights
- Filibuster reform
- Reproductive rights
- Build Back Better
With our 50/50 Senate and zero Republican support, it's not going to be easy. But we must fight with everything we've got to get it done.
Not going to lie, 2021 has been a hard year, and I’m just fine seeing it come to an end. But, we are here a finite and unknown number of years, so every year needs to be embraced, with the good and the bad.
As a 16yo, I remember hearing cries and finding a snowboarder stuck in a tree well, complete with dislocated shoulder & more. I stayed w/ him until we got ski patrol on-site & skied out w/ him. This is real.
Please consider using a buddy system when skiing or snowboarding this weekend. The recent abundant snowfall will make tree wells a very real hazard. Be sure to stay near each other so you can quickly locate & help out your partner in case they fall head first into a tree well.
With severe winter weather headed our way, I have declared a statewide state of emergency through Jan 3.
Winter storms mean increased risk for those traveling, as well as those staying home. Please make a plan with your family now and be prepared.
“I’ll definitely run to the left of him. But Kurt has become so conservative that running to the left of him just means you’re a Democrat.”

“I just want people to know he was really loved and that he mattered. He really mattered.”
My heart goes out to my friend Hope for the loss of her son & the failed systems that led to his untimely death.
We must not forget that this is preventable. We can & must do better. 💜
