Looking forward to International Women’s Day. Loving this from The Economist. We need to disrupt the patriarchy at the top of all institutions - finance included - and foster the promotion of women throughout institutions. To the benefit of us all

The 2021 census form is a muddle. In the ‘ethnic category’ why can’t I be both Black Carribean & English when I was born in London? Why can’t my kids be both mixed Black & White and English (their mother was born in Northampton)? Since when do you need to be White to be English?

So close to 500 followers...will you help us get there?! At Cuckmere Community Solar we are working on a new model for community energy, partnering with and to power the railways with solar power owned by local people.

Legislative oversight is too often the poor relation of climate change politics. Excellent bringing together a ”Super Committee” to scrutinise Should be a permanent institution as with intelligence & security oversight.

Covid continues to glare on gaps in global economic governance: Emerging markets suffer first outflows since October on rate jump—then comes FX depreciation & even more unsustainable debt burden.

When I was in an induced coma, night after night nurses watched over me to see that I didn't need emergency attention. In the morning they wrote me a 'letter' which went into a 'Patient Diary' which they gave me when I came round. This is only worth 1%?

Aiming high & aiming well, Transition needs Ambition. 2nd piece in a new 3-pt series to stimulate the discussion around . Impactful transition must be clear about transition being ambitious, not greenwash or transition-wash.

Powerful & important on anniversary of 1st UK death from COVID-19. I’m struck by data on scale of household overcrowding by ethnicity. UN has found overcrowding has played major part in transmission. Cautionary lesson for future-reducing inequality must be priority.

Super important! We've already had three waves of jobs and skills destruction: technology, globalization and now Covid. Governments must make sure the green transition maximizes job creation (and 'rescues' the unavoidable victims). It can be done.
