    The pups are here! Over 10 currently across the islands so far. This newest edition to the Farnes family was born overnight and discovered at dawn on Brownsman. Stay tuned for pupdates...

    This Short-eared owl landed to roost on Inner Farne this afternoon; an uncommon visitor from Europe. Sometimes referred to as 'Sea' or 'pilot' owl, it lived up to such labels by navigating today's strong south-easterlies! (image )

    Great migration on Inner Farne today! 100s of Redwing and 20 Goldcrest dropped in, with Ring Ouzel, Water rail and 2 male Redstarts being highlights. A fine supporting cast included Merlin, Fieldfare, Lesser whitethroat and Brambling among others.
