From her home base at RAAF Richmond this morning the #NSWRFS Large Air Tanker the ‘Marie Bashir’ has flown out for a 3 month deployment to the USA. The aircraft will be based on the west coast of the States for the fire season. We wish the whole team a safe deployment.

With fires currently burning across Canada, the Canadian IFFC has requested assistance from Australia & New Zealand. The #NSWRFS is coordinating the NSW team with the National Resource Sharing Centre. NSW will provide almost 60 personnel as part of the 200 strong Australian team.

The Keech Rd HR being conducted north of Penrith today, is 17.5 hectares and will help to protect surrounding homes, if wildfire were to threaten.
