We're proud of the work we do to strengthen tribal sovereignty and self-governance and to honor our trust and treaty responsibilities.
And we think it's a big deal.
Also, just FYI, passed more than 100 bills into law in December alone👇

At our 1st meeting, Republican questioned ability to pass bipartisan bills.
pointed out the many bills our Indigenous Peoples subcommittee passed last year.
He shrugged them off, equating them to "naming post offices."

Making sure our staff & colleagues are safe isn’t a waste of time. I wish it wasn’t the case, but my amendment to prohibit guns is necessary. We have members of this committee that fetishize guns, have incited violence, & bolstered insurrectionists. Sadly, the GOP struck it down.

For my colleagues across the aisle saying didn’t accomplish anything last Congress – here’s a little refresher (and yes, a LOT was bipartisan).

Washingtonians don't want new oil and gas drilling off our coast.
, , and I proposed an amendment to protect coastal ecosystems, communities, and jobs. This isn't just about environmental protection – it’s about protecting our economy and way of life.

ON THE HOUSE FLOOR NOW: is pushing H.R. 21, a #BigOilGiveaway of our #PublicLands.
Watch Ranking Member explain why this bill is a bad deal for American consumers and #EnvironmentalJustice communities.

The 's #BigOilGiveaway bill restricts the federal government’s best tool to lower gas prices—with no benefit other than increasing the profits of the fossil fuel industry. This is a disservice to working families who will bear the brunt of the consequences.

Last year, made history when we passed the single biggest investment in climate action into law with the Inflation Reduction Act.
Today, Republicans want to undo this progress with a #BigOilGiveaway of more of our public lands. I’m voting NO!

With in charge, big oil &powerful special interests will win, while Americans pay more. H.R. 21 will raise gas prices & open areas to drilling + pollution that should be off limits.
I will vote NO on their #BigOilGiveaway - for Florida, our economy + our way of life.

HAPPENING NOW: House Republicans are showing their true priorities–bringing a bill to the floor that’s a #BigOilGiveaway and raises gas prices at the pump.
They are beholden to corporate special interests and their so-called “Strategic Production Response Act” is proof of that.

Representation matters.
And representation in leadership matters even more.
Despite Republicans’ failure to put that fact into practice, will keep lifting the voices of communities of color & Indigenous Peoples in his role as top Democrat on the Committee.

Not a single one of the new incoming House Committee Chairs is a person of color. Republicans don’t want us to have a seat at the table, but we will continue to demand that our voices are heard.
