The NRA filed a lawsuit challenging Florida’s newly-enacted ban on the purchase of firearms by adults between the ages of 18-21. It is an affront to #2A, as it totally eviscerates the #2A rights of law-abiding adults to keep and bear arms #DefendTheSecondhttp://ms.spr.ly/6010r05Sr

What would happen if you just abolished the 2A and let each state pass it’s own gun laws?

It won't happen, the notion that the NRA is saying 'they taking out second amendment rights away' it's all propaganda. It didn't happen under obama for 8 years it won't happen now. 2A is our constitutional rights. The argument is 'assault weapon' and gun policy. That the issues.

But are weapons of war covered by legislation prohibiting non military ownership?

That's the million dollar question🤔.. Military weapon should stay in the military. That just my opinion.

“We have no power to extend Second Amendment protection to the weapons of war that the Heller decision explicitly excluded from such coverage,” King wrote in the 4th Circuit opinion, referring to the Supreme Court case known as District of Columbia v. Heller.

In a separate concurring opinion, Judge J. Harvie Wilkinson III said state governments — not the courts — have long been responsible for the safety of residents. The Supreme Court in Heller, Wilkinson said, did not prevent elected officials from regulating “assault weapons.”

Thanks for taking the trouble to provide a non-us citizen with local info. Seems to me that the us is addicted to guns, they like them, they want them. Opium and Heroin were legal before WWI in most countries. It’s the addiction that needs to be addressed

I was born in the 50’s and the first time I saw a policeman with a gun was after 1990 and have only seen them at one airport in my country. Now there are as many guns as people in the USA. Can’t put the genie back in the bottle!

These laws effectively make 2nd class citizens of 18-20 yr olds. They are adults and should have full rights. We try them in court as adults but now say they aren’t mature enough to know right from wrong. Which is it?

Wait so an 18 year old is old enough to purchase a firearm but *not* old enough to be politically active? Got it.pic.twitter.com/KiIavYZL67

Standing behind the NRA? Good idea. It's safer than standing in front of them.
