Well, we do know crowd size estimation is not a strong point for the current administration.
Just interviewed Mexico's ambassador to the US, Geronimo Gutierrez. He used smaller numbers for the caravan - not 7,000, as often reported, but 3,500. Says many of the 3,500 are accepting Mexico's offer of asylum, leaving fewer determined to seek entry to the US. @MorningEdition

Trump has said the caravan is a political gift. This is a humanitarian crisis. So despicable the GOP whip up their base with racially charged lies. Sending military instead of humanitarian aid and cutting off funds to these poor countries, so disgusting.

I know how u feel. I tried to explain what was going to happen before my dad voted for him. He didnt listen. Now he loses sleep because it's happening. Hes filled w anxiety and remorse, and considers it 1 of his biggest mistakes. We used to be Republican. Never again...ever.

Why would any of them want to come here right now; aren't they being told they may be separated from their children, and may never see them again? I'm glad that Mexico is offering asylum to those who want to stay, sure beats coming here under the current regime.

America has always been the "golden fleece" to immigrants; it was touted as the land of opportunity. Not so much any more with the current administration demonizing immigrants. America is made up of people from all over; even fascists had family members who were immigrants.
