    Thanks. You suggest that NPR "circle back in 3-4 months" to see how accurate the models are. Great idea! This segment noted 16 models with a range of outcomes-- and checked back on the models from 3 months ago. So my colleagues already do what you demand that they start doing.

    Our friends at get an accomplished producer and exuberant colleague. Ryan produced one of my favorite 2020 stories: hearing Black voters in a swing state. Pre-vaccine, we did all interviews outside, against the gorgeous backdrop of Pittsburgh.

    As I'm off next week, it's my last day working with our director . He's moving over to our member station . One of the best parts of public media is the way people move from stations to or from NPR to stations--occasionally back and forth multiple times.

    In the 1830’s, abolitionists in free states mailed pamphlets to slave states. Slave states pushed the US to censor the mail. And succeeded. It’s not hard to foresee similar battles over abortion pills by mail—state by state, and involving federal power.

    In our talk, says the texts show Fox personalities are "normal people" who understood in real time that the attack was an outrage provoked by Trump, who could have stopped it. But then they reverted to "manning the brooms behind the Trumpian elephant."

    Fox personalities showed in texts they knew the truth, and then, "for the next eleven months, decided to go another way" on TV, minimizing violence and plugging conspiracies. "That's what Laura, who I've known for 30 years, and Sean Hannity, who I've known for at least 20, did."
