    Please bring attention to the schools that are already open like in Texas where removed the mask mandate and has left it up to the districts. Districts like where there are already over 20 kids in a room and masks are all teachers have left.

    This is something. Thinking about all the immuno-compromised kids and parents and multi-gen fams out there for whom this isn't just bad news. It's terrifying.

    More news today: Masks still required in Texas public schools but local school boards can vote to opt out, according to new TEA guidance. Story to come.

    ED is providing states “significant flexibility” for 2020-21 assessments, including moving tests to summer or fall, giving it remotely, shortening it. States can also seek waivers from ED for accountability and school ID requirements, including the 95% participation requirement.
