I'd never heard of detransitioning until just now.

If one were to argue that transitioning belonged to trans people, then couldn’t one make the argument that detransitioning belongs to cis people?
-
No. People who de-transition have their own culture. I have an IBD. It has 2 conditions. Mine's Crohn's disease. My interests are with Crohn's, not Ulcerated Colitis. I support them as someone with an IBD, but only those with Crohn's understand what I'm going through.

The
#KieraBell ruling against the Travistock clinic should give us all pause. We should ALL be talking about how the mental heath & medical industry is doing harm under the "affirmation model." Patients can end up with irreversible bodily damage.https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2020/dec/06/keira-bell-lawyer-warns-on-internet-coverage-of-transgender-issues … -
This came up today(https://uk.indeed.com/viewjob?jk=bc05a8690a4098d3&q=Gender+Policy+title%3AGender&tk=1f0cjujahu6hl800&from=ja&alid=56cf882ce4b02ba59d59bb8e&utm_campaign=job_alerts&utm_medium=email&utm_source=jobseeker_emails&rgtk=1f0cjujahu6hl800 …) and gave me the heeby-jeebies. Imagine this kind of decision-making being put in the hands of someone without accountability, for profit.

What? People own their own stories.

What? the thing that Stonewall and Mermaids both say NEVER happen? They now want to appropriate those lives? Maybe to make sure the narrative doesn't damage the all-affirmation model? Maybe to make sure only the "good" ones get out? No life belong to anybody.
-
Right. I'm tired of people trying to own a narrative for any demographic. Varying perspectives deserve to be heard (even those from outside). The groups you mentioned are the very worst about policing a narrative, but it's become a wider thing.

WHAT? Reclaim them? Are they slaves? Trans people own detrans people? Detrans people exist, they have a right to a voice. This is unbelievable! NPR saying "detransition narratives are often weaponized against trans people" is not only a lie, it is deeply offensive.
-
Detrans people are way more vulnerable than trans people. They not only went through everything a trans person does, but then they go through even worse isolation and condemnation for wanting to detrans, and they are the target of a lot of hate from trans activists
