  NPR's caption is a bit misleading here...the article states that, in addition to the $1000- " those diagnosed with psychological conditions related to their work as Facebook moderators can have medical treatment covered, as well as additional damages of up to $50,000 per person".

  Wow, enough for maybe a month or two of therapy. For PTSD. I have PTSD, not from looking at disturbing images, but I can tell you anyone with a real diagnosis of PTSD will get very little help from $1000. It's a life long readjustment of how you behave as a human being.
