Politically correct is such a negative term for being a decent human. Should say 52% of Americans are against the country becoming more decent.

So decent human beings have to be politically correct? I’d rather kick it with the creators of South Park than the stuffy characters who’ve come to characterize American college campus culture.

Decent people will not want to cause harm and be hurtful to others. When they use language that is harmful they change the language they are using. When it's their belief structure which is harmful, they examine it and adapt and change to be less harmful and more decent.

Yes the problems go deeper than speech but is it not common sense tht our language reflects our attitudes? If an English person goes out of their way to do something nice for me then says "hope u like ur gift, n*gger" I'm supposed to just accept that because their actions..(1/2)

..were nice? If they're calling me n*gger, they clearly have a problem with me. You wanna keep being toxic then go ahead, but there are lots of kind hearted people who genuinely don't understand the effects of their words so campaigns like PC are for them. Can't fix evil ig (2/2)

So basically, people who like saying hateful shit want to be able to say it without the marginalized people they’re talking about feeling entitled enough to stop them or demand consequences. Bite me, bigots. We don’t need to tolerate intolerance.

The only things I’ve found I can’t say anymore are terrible things from back when I was (more of) a part of the problem. I have yet to find my life terribly encumbered by being consciously decent to people. Evolve, or die, and be quick about it.
