A new NPR-Ipsos poll finds that 43% of people believe the #MeToo
movement has "gone too far."
But broken down by party, that includes three-quarters of Republicans and less than one quarter of Democrats.https://n.pr/2DeCsn6

It is hard for me to see how anyone can say the movement has "gone to far" if "many" people cannot even say what constitutes sexual harassment.

They “don’t know what constitutes sexual harassment”? Yet some think it went too far?
All this says is the US society is still heavily patriarchal and misogynistic.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Anything you wouldn’t want said to your sister or mom or daughters is a good place to start. Asking someone out on a date or telling someone your interested in dating. Being respectful and heeding thier reaction as the end of it. Any touching without express permission is bad.

I feel Asking someone out or for a date is ok

I can see where men might answer “I don’t know”, but women?

The argument that false accusations of a crime negatively affect people is certainly valid, but what is the action item people are advocating when they make this point? False accusations of murder certainly ruin lives. Does that mean we just stop investigating murder?

There is no common shared definition as people use harrasment, assaults and sexual assaults interchangeably. You believe unless the allegation’s facts don’t withstand investigation

Oppression of women - any and all words and actions that diminish her humanity. Women are not objects to be had for the taking. Women are not objects to be spoken to as less than, as inferior. Women are worthy.

I bet most of the doubters are older women. They are so steeped in denial that they can’t get their heads out of the sand

This has become a very nebulous topic. I have seen "making comments on one's appearance" as being sexual harassment. Yet that is vague. It is possible to compliment someone on her appearance without it being harassment. It's all about context.

I can't make head nor tail of that chart. I see numbers and lines and no indication of what any of them pertain to. Superb work.

I don't know is the correct answer. The answer is wildly different for different people and its easy to misread signals.
