Before they sat on the Supreme Court together and before they were both married, William Rehnquist proposed to Sandra Day O'Connor. She said no, because she was in love with another man.https://n.pr/2CSoztJ

In Bush v Gore, 5 Justices voted to stop the vote counting, and Bush became the president. Among the 5? Rehnquist and Sandra Day O'connor. If O'connor had said yes, votes would be 4, and there might not be an Iraq War, no ISIS.

Change "MIGHT" to WOULD and your tweet would be far more accurate! There was nothing that would have led us to war in IRAQ as the result of 9/11, no matter how much as Dick Cheney wanted Americans to believe Iraq was responsible for 9/11... IRAQ had NOTHING to do with it!

Sweet, but begs the question... are Supreme Court Justices picked from a too small, too intertwined a pool? Both Kavanaugh and Gorsuch also attended same prep school. Maybe accounts for lack of true representation on the court?

She probably didn't want to marry a guy with a restrictive covenant on his house that said it could not be SOLD TO JEWS. Really. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court owned a "NO JEWS" house. Here. The interesting part of this story isn't that William Rehnquist asked Sandra Day O'Conner to marry him at Stanford. It's that after both graduated top of their class, he was offered a clerkship on SCOTUS while O'Conner could only get a job as a secretary. https://www.npr.org/2018/10/31/662293127/a-supreme-marriage-proposal …
