According to Census Bureau research, asking about citizenship status could discourage non-citizens from taking part in the U.S. Census –– which would harm the accuracy of the information.https://n.pr/2yCuGPV

Why ask ethnicity? Why ask age? TO GATHER DATA,right? To plan. If 50m are NOT citizens, would planning be different? If not, doesn't matter, but if you WANT to plan for it, it does.

https://twitter.com/NPR/status/1056245393254703112?s=19 … Let's pack aside infantile imbecility. Let's seek intellectual maturity. People have been lying to Census officials for as long as population counting has been going on! You can have excuses but census info has never been pure & accurate.

The amount of electoral votes a state receives is determined in part by its population of citizens. California and a few other states might be in for a decreased number of votes if their large population of illegals don’t participate. The real reason libs are against it...power.

It is a perfectly legitimate question. If it affects funding and representation, please explain to me why non-citizens should count in determining Congressional representation? That makes being a citizen worth less than it should be.

'..asking citizenship status could discourage non-citizens from taking part in the U.S. Census, which would harm the accuracy of data' WHAT 'Accuracy'? What is REASON for census: head count or category? If 100 actual & 96 say citizen & 4 say not, vs 100 raising a hand or 96?

Those not US citizens, either natural born or naturalized should not count for the distribution of Congressional House seats or Electoral College votes. Only US citizens get to say what goes in the country.

This question doesn’t belong on the census, and I wouldn’t blame non-citizens for not participating. With this country’s instability, answering “no” could come back to haunt the participant. It wasn’t that long ago that we put people in internment camps.
