I enjoy reading the "I was abused and I turned out fine so when I abuse my children they'll be fine too" takes that this creates.

Discipline is not abuse just as abuse is not discipline. Hopefully you don’t have kids. If you don’t know the difference you will have those kids everyone whispers about.

They probably don’t allow everyone to have an assault rifle either...
-
No, but they did allow 15 to 30 cases of gang rape to occur at their concerts, for over two years before they decided to ban concerts. They're fond of banning their problems away.

Not sure how much spanking there is in US, but it sure is a violent country

"We see consistently that the more children are spanked, the more behavioral problems they have in the years ahead." Silliest comment ever!
-
I agree. I don't think one has to do with the other. It's a biased article. Why not look into violent adults who were never spanked and kind hearted, respectable adults who were spanked?

I love the "you're/this study is complete crap" without offering any equivalent evidence to the contrary.

Hu, I wonder where the word "comments" went. It was supposed to be after the quote.

How strange to think that teaching kids that violence is the solution, would result in violent kids?

1959/60, last year of corporal punishment in Junior High. Often meted out for completely trivial reasons, such as being the last one out of the gym teacher's office when the class bell rang (happened to me).

Yeah, it is important to ignore strong evidence pending "proof". Not beating kids surely leads to something bad, I just haven't figured it out yet.
