The troops just stand there and do nothing. They are not allowed to do anything by law. Just like last time, it’s high theater for POTUS. The Border Patrol has enough people to deal with hundreds of people seeking asylum per day., and they are trained for it.

How do they envision this ending? I’m legit scared they’re going to start shooting. At the least these people will end up in a concentration camp.

What will they do when these people cross the border and ask for asylum? Hopefully not separate the families.

If they break the law and cross the border illegally they will have to be prosecuted and they will be separated. Its the same for you and me.

Depends on how it's done. Crossing in an irregular manner (e.g., in the middle of a desert) is illegal, regardless of your intent. If you show up at an INS crossing station and apply for asylum, then that is legal. The tweet you replied to isn't wrong, but neither is your reply.
