as you cut aid to poor nations it drives more people to migrate, all curring aid will do is create more caravans, more news bites for Trump. He needs these groups to keep coming so he can use them as a reason for building his ridiculous wall. Hell he may as well be funding them.

He doesn’t “need” these groups to keep coming so he can build the wall. If they stopped coming, problem solved. Come here legally and no wall is needed. @TheAngel_Miller

MSM does a disservice to topic of asylum policies & seekers coming into US. It’s simple salience. By showing a sample which has minimal size & impact in our immigration, they’re given them a disproportionate rank in the public’s mind. A nonissue is being elevated to a “problem”.

Brilliant move—make the countries that they are fleeing because of poverty inspired violence—EVEN POORER! Way to go Donny! BTW nice touch trying to add MIDDLE EASTERNERS to the caravan. Gotta hit the right FEAR buttons!

But it makes sense to help fix the problem if their problem spills over and causes us problems. When your neighbors house is on fire, help put it out before it ignites yours

How would you fix a political and social system that you are not responsible for? You don’t fix it by taking its citizenry. The ‘house on fire’ analogy doesn’t really work if he set fire to the house...

You can't fix it over night, it is a long term project of engaging, trying to create stable governments where citizens feel safe and think they have opportunity. The kind of stuff we used to do a decade ago when we had a foreign policy

You have a valid point that success is hard to find but it is easy to find huge problems and vacuums created when we left places. So it may be hard to fix it seems easy to make it much worse
