Because she had it all , whiteness, prettiness, parents who stick by her no matter what, a cute baby to live for and she's dead by her own behavior.
-
Sympathetic much?
-
Not much. Her child is alive she has Grandparents I hope. The living is who matters.

Nothing. It does not resonate with me because the people I know are losing their livelihood because they are in such agonizing pain that they cannot function due to restrictions on opioids. That's a story you won't tell. We have an ADDICTION epidemic, not an opioid one.
-
Her’s was an addiction problem.
-
You miss the point. The media obsesses over the single side of the issue to the detriment of those living with chronic pain. The problem is not the opioids, but the addiction. The addiction happens due to mismanagement, over-prescription, and greed.

White middle-class America saw their kids become "those" people and all of a sudden saw addiction as a disease and not a moral failing. I'm glad people are finally listening, but don't recall hearing such compassion for homeless crack addicts. Addiction is addiction is addiction.

And there's the first race card in the thread. Way to distract from the point.

I recently broke a tooth and had to have it extracted. The surgeon prescribed me oxy for the pain. I did NOT fill that prescription. I was offended by that prescription. Advil saw me through the pain just fine. Oxy should not be the go to prescription!
