Step 1: Be rich. Step 2: Don't live in a food desert.

Yep. Poverty is a socioeconomic determinant of health. Lots of folks I work with aren’t lazy or ignorant. THEY’RE POOR.

Having recently been diagnosed with adult onset Type 1 diabetes, I can assure you it takes a keen understanding of what is healthy, low carb, low fat , and portion control. It sucks having to think about every meal

It’s unreasonably expensive to eat well. Organic whole food has become food for the rich while processed & fast food are what’s most attainable for those who earn least.

I have an even harder time finding sugar in items because they list it as a sugar alcohol and new ones are out every month it seems.
-
It’s still under carbs

I've had a couple packages that weren't marking it correctly. Or said zero grams of sugar and only listed it in the ingredients.

Hmmm. Must not be mandatory.

Maybe but it’s all about changing your daily habits. If you chose to eat healthy then you will. Also lots of restaurants nowadays offer healthier food too so really it’s up to us all individually to decide what we want to eat or not...

I read a lot of trade publications for the food industry and they definitely want to confuse you. Everyone is now into "health food".

Carbs & sugar are the problem. I reduced my tryglycerides & cholesterol by reading how many carbs are in foods & eating a high protein & low carb veggie diet. 0 to 8 carb foods. Nothing else worked after menopause.

Buy smaller plates and bowels. Get a tribe to do it with you. Keep an open daily weight log. Work up to 150 minutes of exercise. Stave off hunger with 10-20g protein Evidenced based. But keep at it and don’t lose heart.

It’s incredibly easy to eat poorly in America. Every trip to the grocery store is a challenge to not buy some kind of unhealthy crap. Start small and work toward eating better. Fish instead of beef one night a week, a piece of fruit daily etc.

Cuz our government is more interested in letting huge companies create dried out processed & frozen foods instead of spending time on wholesome Natural Foods. More land needs to be assigned for food growth & take away cow Farms of which we should not be consuming beef & cow milk

If nature wanted us to eat vegies why do they make it so hard? Fruit is easy, why can't vegetables?

Healthy foods are just too expensive for a large family. Healthy eating is just geared towards wealthy families.
