The 2018 elections could see the highest turnout for a midterm since the mid-'60s. One expert is predicting 45-50% of eligible voters will cast a ballot.https://n.pr/2yUPyS7

Seriously! The most important election of your life and only half of you are interested? Vote! It's a tiny event in your day that will impact your entire future.

For some, it’s not that they aren’t interested, it’s that they’ve been systemically prevented from voting. Vote ID laws or lack of voting precincts within public transit areas. Also a lot of people can’t get the time off work to vote

Agreed. However, if that number if anywhere near 50% then we have a very serious problem!

Highest turnout to vote is STILL only max 50%... man, we need some serious re-designing of our culture and updating the design of our government so that ALL people are represented. Big project.

50% does seem low but do you think that over 50% of americans are informed on the issues or the people running? I'd love to see everyone get involved and vote but if you're not informed on the issues you should stay home and not put someone in office you know nothing about

But how do you define informed? I would argue that every Fox News watcher and Rush Limbaugh listener is extremely uninformed. In fact it's it's worse than uninformed because they think they are informed but it's all a bunch of lies and BS.

if you only listen to one side of arguments regardless of where you lean you are doing a disservice to yourself and the truth.every news outlet usually has a bias to some extent, learn to gather information from all sides and the truth is usually somewhere in between

We must remain civil throughout. They will try to claim any increased participation is from illegal voters. They will say our voice of dissent is mob rule. We must not let that happen.

No worries- the @GOP will close down voting locations, cut hours and throw away ballots. All in the name of freedom.

great news high voter turnout is a beautiful thing for a democracy, now let's just make sure it's only eligible voters and we make it impossible, through voter identification and tighter border security, for illegal and ineligible voters to taint the results

You mean so we can stop the massive voter fraud that has never been proven to be a a problem? Even the commission led by the Kansas AG was disbanded due to lack of finding any fraud. Funny thing was the ones they did find were Trump/ GOP voters

whether it's as rampant as they claim on right wing media or not is really not relevant, even one citizens vote being cancelled out by an unlawful one is too many.

As opposed to the thousands and thousands currently being cancelled by voter suppression tactics? Or partisan gerrymandering? Republicans have used “ILLEGALS VOTE” as a rallying cry for racist policies for a generation

If there are no illegals voting why do liberals get so butt hurt about it? And it has nothing to do with race, if Canadians were coming into this country and actively trying to shape our election results through improper voting it would just as bad

Liberals get so “butthurt” about it because illegals DON’T vote. So your precious voter ID laws are useless on that front. Instead, they keep eligible minority voters from voting. This really isn’t difficult to understand
