The Catholic archdiocese of Washington, D.C., has released a list of 31 clergymen who've been "credibly accused" of abusing children. The list spans from 1948 to 1996.https://n.pr/2ymey55

Why only to 1996? Are they protecting the ones that are still doing it in 2018?

There has been abuse at every level in the church for decades. Why are they still tax exempt and why haven’t there been any congressional hearings?

Do you think abusers don’t gather with atheists? They do. They are everywhere. Baptists, Catholics, Athiests, Muslims, and Jews. Faith has nothing to do with it. Perversion is everywhere. How it is handled, however, is a different matter entirely.

No organization in the world has as many pedophiles as the Catholic Church—part of it is inextricably linked to celibacy rules for priests.

I’m sure this is true. However, holding atheists up as the shining example of a pure gathering where no evil ever exists is a little naive.

Organized religion is a lot like the GOP and pro-corporate centrist Democrats: More interested in accumulating power and wealth than the well being of their supporters/followers.

Recently the Fort Worth archdiocese did the same. I was appalled, but at the same time, happy for community members who could now have informed conversations with their loved-ones. Perhaps long held secrets and shame can be put to rest...

So, none of those currently practicing are committing these crimes, just former clergy. Rigghhhhtttt. If you buy that story, you probably believe that whole "virgin birth" tale, too.
