What is their sick obsession with flying across the globe to kill things? It's not sane.

And worse, to kill the whole FREAKING family? Even the baby? And brag about it? What is wrong with this guy, seriously?
-
If these people could hunt humans they would. I don't get it at all, they aren't eating baboon...it serves no purpose and I don't want to hear some conservation lie. There are ways to curb population without outright murder.

I don’t understand what about this is necessary or worthy of that large smile on his face? It’s disgusting and sad.

What is it with wealthy white folks going to shoot at animals that are placed easily in their paths just so they can post it on something like Instagram? What is wrong with them?

Why do people go to Africa to kill animals???? Go there too look in awe and wonder that they aren't extinct. I don't understand how the person in this picture is happy and proud of what he has done

Hunting is legal. This shouldn’t be a story
-
No one said it's illegal, but everyone should be careful of the ramifications of their social media posts. This is social media safety 101.
-
I understand the social faux pas. I don’t agree that it should be amplified by NPR. I love NPR btw. Not screaming fake news, just wondering if the known consequences for publishing a story like this (social media backlash for the hunter) are considered.
-
I don't know if they would be reporting on it if it weren't already out there.
-
Fair. I get frustrated at stories like this demonizing hunters who provide the capital for conservation/meat for locals/sustainable animal population control. always more to the story than evil person kills innocent animal.
-
With all due respect. You should direct your frustration at the stupid hunter posing with a family he killed including babies. HE bears the sole responsibility of putting hunters in a bad light.
-
Agreed, social faux pas, all that. I read the article before I posted and saw baboons are free to hunt, which goes against what I said above about responsible hunting, especially as a guest in a foreign country. Still not illegal, and I don’t agree it should be a national story.
