Women in prison are more likely than men to get in trouble for smaller infractions. A few states, including Illinois, are trying to change that through gender-responsive practices. https://www.npr.org/2018/10/15/647874342/in-prison-discipline-comes-down-hardest-on-women?utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=npr&utm_term=nprnews&utm_content=2043 …pic.twitter.com/eOazLijZgW

Males receive 63% longer than females for comparable crimes. Female arrestees are also significantly likelier to avoid charges and convictions entirely, and twice as likely to avoid incarceration if convicted. Just a few stats that are actually worth fixing.

Of course you have to derail the conversation and make it about yourself. This article is about how women are punished for minor infractions IN PRISON compared to men. Try to keep up.

I heard it on the ray-dee-oh. Their main source was usually being punished for insolence, which will quickly escalate to overt resistance if not dealt with. NPR always takes the criminal's side.

I don't believe that advanced training is necessary to understand fairly straightforward cause and effect. In fact it seems to be something of an impediment.

Thus, drawing attention to dehumanization is important, because our system needs major overhaul, guards need accountability, and I don’t know about you, but I’m sick of my tax money paying to keep addicts behind bars.

It’s reflective of our expectations of women in society as a whole - the “Sugar & Spice & Everything Nice” infantilization we impose on women every day.

Actually no. It’s indicative of the grotesque entitlement of women that they think they can lip off to guards. For some reason men know not to do that. Hmmm.

Yes I did. I actually applied a little critical thinking to the information presented. And what was not.

The whole point is that the consequences ARE unequal. Read the article. Try to keep up. And have a big tall glass of calm down juice.

But Women are Far less likely to be Charged, less likely to face prosecution, less likely to be Convicted & far more likely to get lenient sentencing! Curiously enough, feminists never campaign for Equal treatment in the above mentioned areas!!!
