It took 5 days for the flu to kill my Dad last year. Get your damn shot.

Water is toxic. Your statement that there is “no safe level” of the mercury found in vaccines is flat out wrong - learn some damn chemistry.

Being in the medical field I would, from an educated viewpoint, advise getting it. However, having said that, they missed the strain last season. Wouldn’t have made a difference, likely. Either way it’s an inactive, benign vaccine. Just get the damned thing.
-
Exactly. They're free with most insurances and around $20 at places like Walgreens or CVS.

I don’t know about the contents but that headline is click-baity AF. Class it up NPR.
-
read the article! it’s not just click bait
-
I did. I still think the headline lacks class. It’s the kind of fear mongering wordsmithing that used to be strictly the province of local news. I guess it’s hard out there for a pimp.
-
It's a totally factual headline. Last year, coma from flu. This year, getting the shot.
-
I'm not questioning its voracity, rather its style. There are a million ways to write about the flu vaccine. They chose a fear-mongering approach. Imagine this: Science Shows Flu Vaccine Saves Millions of Lives Every Year but Misinformation Spreads About Efficacy.
-
But I get it. That's boring. But NPR is supposed to be boring IMO. Boring is trusted.

Soooooo objecting the flu virus into himself since the flu put him in a coma. Hmmmm. Wtf?
-
Injecting. Twitter needs edit

You put a tiny inactive amount in so your immune system can learn about it and fight it off should it ever come into contact with the live virus. Think of it as running everyday to build up stamina. Sure, running drains your stamina, but even after just a few days you’ll be able
-
to run farther than you could on the first day.
