During hurricanes, many find themselves needing rescue. Sometimes volunteers step in to help — but officials say some of them may be creating problems.https://n.pr/2NA9un6

There are people that create problems even on the sunniest of days. I will never disparage someone who steps up for another person, especially in their moments of greatest need. #getoffyourcoucb

Questioning good deeds? Really? New low. Smh. Don't be influenced by govt officials. Of course they don't like the competition. Makes them look bad. Because they are! #FEMA let's people die. #NeverForget #Katrina 💚 The #CajunNavy are the real HEROES.

I applaud their efforts and thank them for what they do. Of course this kind of effort has inherent dangers. I notice that the report says potential problems, but no actual issues have been reported, anywhere.

I don't think people needing to be rescued are picky about whether you're on an approved list of rescuers. :-|

When all hell breaks loose, it's all hands on deck. Good Samaritans are a blessing when it's hell and high water, ask anyone who's sat on a roof waiting for FEMA rescue or help from the local government to arrive.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S26hYhwvPCw …

Feeble mind? No. Geez. Way to prove my point. Smh. Presumptuous much? I just find it fucked up... the Cajun Navy has been doing their thing for years, then because Trump mentions them, NPR suddenly does this hit piece on them.

Suddenly? This is not a hit piece. I guess everyone adds their own personal bias to everything they read or hear. I hate Trump but I love the Cajun Navy for what they do to help. This type of thing has been reported before, many times.

And yes. The fact the article came directly after a Trump shout out is a very curious coincidence. #sorrynotsorry

But when your whole city is covered in water and sewage and dead fucking bodies.. while tiny babies are dying on bridges.. and people are up on their rooftops waiting to be rescued.. and FEMA is nowhere to be found.. for fucking days... maybe you'll get it.

You don't comprehend very well - do you? I think what the volunteers do is admirable and much needed. I don't have a problem with them at all. The article presents the facts from both sides and obviously you're not willing to humble yourself and accept it.

I've no problem with all citizens trying to help in an emergency. And yes, sometimes that does lead to misadventure. But in the main, it is who we are as a peoples. Emergency responders have to wrap their minds around this, and not try to preserve empires. It's not about THEM

Not understanding your question (if that is actually what it is); however, the vast majority of the "Cajun navy" are non-college-educated Southerner, males....based on "media" math, that would make the majority of them Trump voters. Correct.....?
